Snow I Only Saw Once
2021
This project explores the reconstruction of the space of memory and the gradual blurring of its boundaries with dreams and imagination as time passes. The work begins with a black and white photograph of a snowy field I took over twenty years ago, and the narrative is tied together with a dream of a horse.
Various materials and media, including painting, artificial intelligence colouring, television static, animal hair and glass, create an atmosphere that gradually becomes cold and realistic, from nostalgic images to taxidermy displays.
